(4,032 posts)If a massacre of grade school children didnt move them, if children in cages didnt move them, ( and I could go on for a day with examples), absolutely nothing will give them cause to turn on the Fuhrer.

Think about that for a few minutes.

(27 posts)but Trumps campaign money will continue to dry up as the RNC tries save the Senate. They'll continue their cowardly silence on Cap'n Adderall's actions because they know they can't win without the racist minion vote. It's all a political play with them. Nothing is moral.

(19,043 posts)Those people are lost.
What these now daily scandals do though is cement Biden's support with swing voters who were already leaning his way. Sure, some moderate Reps will be peeled off, but not a significant number.
Biden doesn't have to sway voters from Trump right now, he;s already done that, he's way ahead, he has to hold onto those voters and these scandals ensure that.
Biden could sway more Trump voters if he needs to by reaching out to some of them with Townhalls and such. I think he'll do that at some point, but right now Trump is the one who needs to sway Biden supporters, not the other way around. These scandals are devastating to Trump in that effort.

(46,083 posts)My theory is/has been that Trump had Cohen and others assist him in creating dossiers on important individuals in politics, entertainment, industry, commerce, finance in order that he maintain leverage against them. Almost everyone has a skeleton in their closet and is unwilling to give up the life they've forged for any given revelation.

(2,248 posts)I respect you Original Poster, but this question has been asked ad nauseam on this site over and over again for the last few days.
The Republican Cult will not abandon Trump. Period. It's maddening, I know.
I hope his soft supporters just stay home from voting in November and Democrats and Independents are motivated to walk through fire to kick the bum out in greater numbers.

(8,200 posts)I appreciate your responses. At my advanced age I can not help from wondering just what will be the future for my grandchildren. Has a significant portion of the population been completely lost? I can't help from thinking about Kennedy's book "Profiles in Courage" which I read in my first year of college. The present situation could be characterized in companion volume of the lack basic morals and ethics of the present Republican leadership appropriately titled: "Profiles in Cowardliness".
