Why stir panic with caravans of criminals, burning cities, voter fraud, rapists - and not COVID?

Because in Trump's mind, there is good panic that supports Trump, and bad panic that doesn't.

Good panic is iron-clad truth in Trump's mind, because he invents it and never stops telling you so.

Bad panic is Fake News! in Trump's mind. Media hype designed to harm Trump because everyone is out to get him.

Say what you will, he's consistent. You just have to face the raw data and recognize its significance.

examples.

He used it to divide us, set one third of us against the other two thirds. In most of your examples he said something existed that didn't exist in order to enrage people. With COVID, he said something didn't exist that actually does exist, to enrage people.

"Good panic" is a good way to put it, because it is panic that creates division, and he believes he's more popular when his supporters are angry.

Trumpy-Boy always lies. He was panicking about two things, neither of which had anything to do with the citizens of the nation. The first was that he was panicking about his own approval ratings, and second, he was worried about a Wall Street panic. So lying about the pandemic made perfect sense to him.

Hundreds of thousands of COVID deaths? Ah, who cares? He’ll just gaslight the survivors and they’ll have nothing to say.

He was panicking because he knew that that pandemic would destroy his reelection chance.

No one or nothing else matters to the Con. So what if there are 300,000 dead by election day?
