Trump slams Woodward: If remarks were bad, why didn't he 'immediately report them'
By Morgan Chalfant - 09/10/20 09:55 AM EDT

President Trump on Thursday criticized Bob Woodward, writing that if the famed Watergate journalist really thought Trump's comments acknowledging he downplayed the severity of the coronavirus were 'bad and dangerous,” Woodward would have not have held the quotes for months.

“Bob Woodward had my quotes for many months. If he thought they were so bad or dangerous, why didn’t he immediately report them in an effort to save lives?" Trump tweeted. "Didn’t he have an obligation to do so? No, because he knew they were good and proper answers. Calm, no panic!”

The new argument comes as the president comes under criticism from Democratic nominee Joe Biden and others for the remarks in the Woodward interviews from February and March for the forthcoming book "Rage."

Many if not most thinking people knew Drumpf was a mass murdering, deviant, corrupt traitor. The tapes prove him to be.

Woodward wanted to make more money for his book. Gee whiz, Donald! Isn't making more money, like, the summum bonum of your existence?

To choose the stock market over living, breathing humans is bad. Very bad.

It's criminal.

Because a panic of the markets is the only panic Trump would have considered.

Two things, locking the country down early on and mandating masks nationwide, would have saved lives. Sure, people would have been scared (and rightly so) - but a President that understood the necessity of saving lives and one that knew how to talk to people? Such a president would have addressed the people with the right words to explain how we are all in it together and these measures would save the most lives.

Trump has never been such a president. He is incapable of it.

Trump didn't care who died or how many died. As early as March, Trump was blaming Democratic Governors and telling them to find the protective gear that the Trump's WH was deliberately withholding and confiscating.

Instead of protecting the country as a whole. Instead of doing the job of a President, Trump divided the nation up according to his dislikes and likes, and ran his mouth accordingly.

He attacked, mocked, and ridiculed mandatory masks rules. Even when he knew the disease was airborne.

He attacked, mocked, and ridiculed Democratic Governors (and a republican or two), and all those who wore a mask, as out to get him. As people who were protesting him.

Trump made wearing a mask a political measure.

Trump is guilty of depraved indifference. I said it months ago. I still think it true.

It seems Trump's first choice is always to retaliate with an ad hominem argument rather than attempt to refute allegations against him.

He says words, but they are empty, devoid of the horrendous impact, real and shocking things he freely admits to doing.

Trump lies. He couldn't care less about causing a panic because he's spent the last 5+ years running a political campaign that's primary purpose was to promote nationwide panic amongst his voters to improve his poll numbers.

Trump is nothing without his constant fear mongering. He didn't suddenly grow any concern since Tuesday over the nearly 200,000 people he has murdered. He didn't do anything for months to try to mitigate the pandemic sweeping across the country because he was paralyzed by fear. He's incapable of being a leader we need.

I keep wondering why so many people, websites, news pimps, etc. are becoming Trump and why they want to be like him.

POTUS has the responsibility of the safety of the country.
Woodward has the responsibility of his own values.

Values wise they both failed but the President failed the more important responsibility test.

The values of a President shouldn't have to matter if we just treated them like what they are - employees hired to do an important job. In fact the importance of the job makes neglect of responsibilities all the more egregious.

This country is actually allowing its President to make decisions that might kill people. In fact, his decisions probably have killed or maimed many more than we realize.

Why is everyone trying to talk in some sort of equivalency talk. There is no equivalent responsibility to that of the President except, at times, key government experts/employees.

But first of all, it is YOUR obligation to be honest with the American people more than Woodwards.
Secondly, Woodward didn't actually say it was "bad". That is just obvious to anyone who can say "person, woman, man, camera, TV."
Thank you for agreeing that what you did was horrible.
Finally, for now, it was more your actions than your bullshit that killed so many people. Woodward is in no way responsible for YOUR actions.

I highly doubt that Woodward agreed with Trump that it was not dangerous to downplay his actions when the interview was being given. That's a typical false Trump add-on.
