This panic excuse reminds me of what the right said about shrub after he stayed in the classroom reading My Pet Goat on 9/11.
Like his only choices were to sit and do nothing or run out of the room screaming, "were all going to die."

(47,940 posts)Trump had then quietly gone about doing what he should have done to prevent the spread of the virus. He could have ordered testing, tracing, and lots of PPE without creating panic. He could have suggested people wear masks as a precaution. The fact that he not only didn't do those things but he prevented them from being done makes it all one more lie.

Just a cursory reading of history will tell you this.

B) "My boss, Dick Cheney, will help guide me through this attack."
Each thought indicated to Dubya that he wasn't qualified and that Daddy's friends shouldn't have bothered so much.
Trump's smirk says, "Yep, I got this." And HIS death toll might remain in six figures.
Heckuvs job, Mr. Tangerine Man!

That's the kind of leader we need right now.

No. The reason for his duplicity is they still wouldn't. They'd just be confused about their Dear Leader agreeing with Democrats and their hoax virus. They'd start to doubt his partisanship. If Trump bowed to the WHO, and the CDC, he was frightened he'd look like a libtard cuck to them. That wasn't his "brand" he was selling.
