What are Dems doing about the ES&S voting machines that connect to the internet. Seems to me this is

the biggest security breach of all. Many states use them and ES&S finally admitted that their machines do in fact have the ability to connect to the net but insist they don't use them. Microsoft is reporting on all kinds of international cyber attacks but who is making sure that any connection to the internet by these machines is blocked so that votes and totals can't be changed on election night. Hope someone is figuring out a way to disrupt those connections.

that shows you which counties in which states, use which type of voting system. You will not be surprised to see which states use the DRE's without paper. States run their elections as they wish, and people in those states elect a Secretary of State to do just that.

Cyberattacks on state, local government up 50%
BY STEPHANIE KANOWITZSEP 04, 2020
Many of the cyberattacks on state, local, tribal and territorial governments are not complicated and could be avoided through simple steps such as improved cyber hygiene and two-factor authentication, a new report states.

Since 2017, attacks – which the report defines as targeted instances of intrusion, fraud or damage by malicious cyber actors rather than discovery of insecure databases or accidental online leaks – rose an average of almost 50%, according to the “State and Local Government Security Report” that BlueVoyant, a cybersecurity firm, released Aug. 27. That amount that is likely only a fraction of the true number, the report adds.

The research confirmed the company’s belief that active threat targeting happens across the board. “For every selected county’s online footprint, evidence showed some sign of intentional targeting,” the report states. What’s more, five counties -- or 17% of the 28 studied -- showed signs of potential compromise, indicating that traffic from governments assets was reaching out to malicious networks.

Data of almost 200 million voters leaked online by GOP analytics firm

Personal information of almost 200 million registered U.S. voters was accidentally exposed online due to an improperly configured security setting, security firm UpGuard revealed on Monday.
The leaked information, compiled by Republican data firm Deep Root Analytics and two other Republican contractors, included names, birth dates, addresses, voter registration details and social media posts.

UpGuard cyber risk analyst Chris Vickery discovered the open database of 198 million voters on June 12, and it was secured on June 14. Putting that number into context, Politico reported last October that the United States had a little more than 200 million voters.

About 1.1 terabytes of data was available to download and not password protected.

"This the DNA of voter analysis," Vickery told CNNTech. "This is exactly what they use to determine how someone is likely to vote on a specific issue."

Deep Root said in a statement the data was exposed on June 1 when the firm updated security settings. The firm said it "builds voter models to help enhance advertiser understanding of TV viewership."

What’s next: ES&S will play a major role in the November election. The company has previously said that more than 33,000 DS200 optical scan machines with modems are in use in 11 states and the District of Columbia but has never identified which jurisdictions this includes beyond D.C.
