This is for all the REAL suckers and losers out there. WTF is the matter with you? Your great grandpa watched this film. He knew what was going on.
I apologize if this has been posted before. I hadn't seen it, and I am stunned. I don't see MSNBC or CNN talking this way. The fucking ARMY made this, nearly 80 years ago.

This is what makes me so mad/sad
We know this story.
We don't need a remake.

(5,914 posts)It's like there's some sort of viral dementia that grips every generation. Like we've become completely incapable of ever learning a lesson.
Maybe it's a societal flaw similar to an individual response to trauma.
Like forgetting pain or extreme abuse.
Or maybe I just think too much

(6,861 posts)It is hard to believe that in almost eighty years, we have forgotten how the despots gained power in democracies and then tried to conquer the world. It may be happening here. Trump and his cult are working hard at convincing us to fear all non whites.
MSNBC and CNN could show this very film and forty percent of Americans would still support Trump and the pro despot party that he leads.

(5,914 posts)That racism and xenophobia are established tools used by hucksters to fuck people over. With all the talk I see on the media about race issues in this country, I NEVER see that brought up.
You're right, though. Forty percent of this country would not only not believe it, but they think it's the sixty percent in this country that are suckers for being too liberal to see that Hillary Clinton is clearly operating a child sex trafficking ring out of a local family pizza restaurant.

He retired from full time television in 1972, and occasionally worked as a character actor after that.
I wish my grandma and her sister were still around telling Hollywood stories. They were USO volunteers in World War II. My grandfather was an Army Air Corp officer. My other grandma and grandpa worked in the shipyards building and repairing Liberty and Victory ships.
Is this the problem with human societies? Too many forget what fascism looks like.
