just shows, again, how his supporters by and large know nothing about history.
Even before he became prime minister Churchill had written several books, including a history of World War I.
His multi-volume history of WWII contains hundreds of his memos and dispatches to members of his cabinet, to FDR, to Stalin, and to officers in all branches of the British military.
He kept close watch on the latest scientific research related to the war, down to the details of the mixture of the explosives used in British bombs and shells as compared to the Germans.
He constantly solicited input from a wide variety of sources. He began and ended each day reading hundreds of pages of reports and memos from staff.
The idea that an American president or any political leader would refuse to read anything longer than a single page would have left him astounded.
Churchill was also a racist and an unabashed imperialist. There's no point in trying to gloss over his shortcomings.
But for Trump to try to set himself up as some sort of Churchillian statesman is beyond laughable. That anyone could possibly believe such an assertion is--to say the least--a depressing comment on our collective amnesia.
