I live in Seattle and can't even see across the street.

The air is full of smoke. Looks like heavy fog. Irritating my eyes and throat. Seems the entire world is on fire. Conspiracy BS is running rampant with conflicting claims that BLM, Antifa, Boogaloos, 3 Per centers are setting fires left and right. I am not personally at risk, except for breathing foul air. The entire west coast is feeling it. Nowhere to run...

people with respiratory problems just get affected early.

Avoid the outside if possible. The best dust masks filter the particulate poorly.

Be safe.

from last week has helped tremendously. But, I worry about Tuesday when your smoke, that of Oregon and Northern CA joins that from our nearby Cameron Peak fire (and those on the western slope). I can cope, but I tremendously worry about our elderly and those with lung disease and asthma. And though I've seen people try to rig particulate masks for their dogs, the fact is that dogs have to be able to pant, so I think they are doing more harm than good. Still, it makes me feel horrible to don a particulate mask myself seeing other people and our animals unprotected.

Stay safe. Use an air filter system if you have one/can get your hands on one (one of my best relatively unused purchases from the past decade) and pray for rain--lots of it (at the risk of flash floods on our fire-scorched forests and communities).

..I'm in Eburg and hubby is in the lower Yakima valley this weekend and he had to wear an N95 in the car. We used to travel back and forth to Wenatchee and during the fires there 7-8 years ago we couldn't even breath in the car without an N95. I'm protected by the Cascade range so the smoke is not as thick..still it burns the eyes, nose and makes me cough. The Evans Canyon fire was too close for comfort and we have more smoke now then we did last week with that fire.

Olympia is in between Portland and Seattle. I can't see across the street. It seems a bit better here than in Seattle, but still. Luckily, we purchased M95 masks the last time this occurred a few years ago. They have been unused in my closet (use cloth masks for Covid). We took them out yesterday.

Stay safe!

Our air quality is literally off the chart bad. I can see across the street, but not much beyond that. The forecasters are talking about a change in the wind direction in the next 48 hours, but for now we're just sitting in the smoke soup.

We saw the eastern half of Washington State covered in smoke.

This must be a hundred times worse. I can't even imagine.

I’m in West Seattle. We’ve been lounging around this morning. I was shocked how bad it is. I have an very active German Shepard who just turned a year. She activity restricted right now because of Panosteitis, so no walks anyway, but damn. I don’t want her breathing that crap either.

Only its not fog. Smoke so thick it obscures navigation. All visual reference points gone.
