... about Biden doing poorly with Latinex voters. I don't see the harm in such posts, but I rarely see low posting DUers on any subject. Thoughts?

(3,489 posts)Said to prefer Trump. Aside from some Cubans, I cant understand how Trump has any support from Latinos. It appears Trumps campaign spent heavily with Spanish language media and Biden is playing catch up.
Joes TV ads appear to be much better than Hillarys but I think digital advertising is probably more important than TV and it seems Trumps campaign has mastered this end of it. Very scary that a maniac like Trump could still be this close.

(6,666 posts)Spinning that as a negative is a curiosity.
Bloomberg spending on ad buys to assure accurate info reaches casual voters will only increase the margin.

(3,489 posts)of Republicans has been steadily dropping over the years. 36% voted for Trump last time and I thought that might drop closer to 30% this time. Instead, support for Trump among Hispanics has gone up despite the hate Trump has ginned up against them.
Mystifies me why thats happening.

And it is enough to make a dent in their support of Biden (nevermind he still leads in that segment). There is also a media desire to keep the race look as tight as possible---more worry, more eyes on the news.
Neither Biden nor Harris is a fool and this isn't 2016. It's all part of the political games being played.

(19,906 posts)sees both an issue and an opportunity to put his money to very good use. A Biden win in FL can blow Trump out of the water, before he tries to steal the election.
We're at a point in the process where weaknesses can be spotted and turned around. Kudos to Bloomberg for waiting to see where the money might be needed (he was getting flak for not spending yet just the other week here on DU)
My kids will tell you I have always been a "no drama mama"--much more the keep calm type. People don't think well when they are in a panic, so I tend to downplay threats when there is something being done (unlike tRump, who downplays when NOTHING is being done!) As I said, Biden and Harris aren't fools and he's headed to Miami tomorrow.
And here's hoping your last sentence is EXACTLY what happens!

(866 posts)The Washington Post article said the angst was overblown. Lots to be done, and certainly the conspiracy theories need to be refuted, but the Post article said that the polls are not the whole story.

(12,994 posts)Different communities have different values. Heck, same is with the Asian communities. Older Viet Americans tend to vote GOP. Younger Asians tend to vote blue.

(6,843 posts)Is grouping all people into one group. Cuban American people have very little in common with Mexican Americans or Central Americans
Cubans have always supported Republicans. Mexican Americans tend to vote for Democrats. A common language does not mean the same political ideals

(8,556 posts)RW disinformation ads are targeting latino voters especially in Florida and it appears to be working. The sooner we hit back the better. I suspect that is much of what Bloomberg's money will be used for.
Its good this came out now. There is still time to fix this issue.

(10,150 posts)100M down there will do us good. Mind you it's only Florida Hispanics not Nevada, Texas, or Arizona Hispanics who will vote overwhelmingly for Biden

(93,851 posts)The point isn't to "depress enthusiasm" for Biden, it's to bring awareness of political risk areas that should be addressed. If you imagine that Biden has a safe margin of support from Latinos (ESPECIALLY in Florida), you're being unacceptably naive in my opinion.

(63,769 posts)DU folks with concerns can go to YouTube and hopefully that segment has been posted there (or maybe find it on msnbc online).
MSNBC will probably have it on shows during today. CNN as well.
