Keep politics out of sports

I am tired of the “keep politics out of sports” and “I use sports as an escape from politics” crowd. What they are essentially saying is “I am a deplorable racist and I watch sports for entertainment. And I don’t want these black players to put my racism in my face. Just entertain me!”

... is often applauded at sporting events.

So they're lying.

I went to a Dayton Dragons baseball game for the first and only time over a decade ago when Dumbya was in office, and it was INSANE how much the game was delayed before and between innings by various tributes to the military! I left early because it added at least 2 hours to the game overall!

Only in the last 20 years did honoring our vets become a thing at every single sporting event. Before that there might be the occasional ceremony, but since 9/11 it's become several events at every single game.

Not that I don't think honoring the vets is admirable and those soldiers deserve respect, but it was definitely political when the Iraq War was started based on lies. Sports franchises were shoving that illegal war down the throats of their fans.

... that damn war! The "war on terror" was often mentioned over the PA system too.

I was given a free ticket and didn't expect anything like that to happen. I was okay with the lengthy pregame stuff, but it just kept happening between each inning too. I finally reached the point when I thought, "If they do it yet again, I'm outta here!" And then they did some kind of ceremony/tribute again.

Remember when Laura Ingraham told LeBron James to “shut up and dribble”?

They have no problem with calling Colin Kaepernick a 6-headed Marxist spawn of Satan and blacklisting him.

As usual, they're just a bunch of lying hypocrites.
