been drinking.

And since he has a history of speeding tickets, he probably was speeding as well.

would have been noticed.

If people in that state have any judgement, this should absolutely end his political career, even if he avoids criminal charges.

One suspects that he will not be AG for too much longer.

...to report hitting a deer, or if it was unusual to do so.

I dunno. Setting up an “I thought it was a deer” defense?

you can't tell the difference between a deer & a man, you should spend 20 years in prison.

But guess what, he's a rEpug in SD, he will probably be the next governor.

It is awful to think that he might have been gravely injured on the side of the road in need of help. This AG better be arrested before the end of the day. Hit and run? Vehicular manslaughter? Probable DUI?

That would explain why the accident investigation took so long, and why it took so long to prepare the body for identification at 6 pm the next evening.

Multiple people called 911 in the wee hours of the morning (still dark) to report a deer hit on 285 in Atlanta and blocking the middle lane. Police responded to find it was a person.

My husband once thought he hit a person on a busy road at twilight and stopped to render aid. He didn't see a person anywhere but his car was not drivable. He had to walk back to a store for a phone to call police (before cell phone). A dead deer was eventually found nearby and it was assumed that's what he hit. As far as I know he probably swore at the pearly gates he'd hit a person.

I don't know why drivers get it confused, but they do.
Then again, Republicans lie just to lie, so who knows.

70 is about 100 feet per second. If the guy was wearing non-reflective clothing there are only a couple seconds between when you can see him and the impact.

Another Republican politician who struck and killed someone in a vehicle before fleeing the scene and lying about it. Fortunately somebody pieced things together and tipped Druce's name to authorities. He received a short jail sentence. The case was featured on Forensic Files
