Trump ad asks people to support the troops. But it uses a picture of Russian jets.

In the annals of truth being stranger than fiction.

A digital ad released by a fundraising arm of the Trump campaign on Sept. 11 calling on people to “support our troops” uses a stock photo of Russian-made fighter jets and weapons.

The ad, which was made by the Trump Make America Great Again Committee, features silhouettes of three soldiers walking as a fighter jet flies over them. The ad first appeared on Sept. 8 and ran until Sept. 12.

That’s definitely a MiG-29,” said Pierre Sprey, who helped design both the F-16 and A-10 planes for the U.S. Air Force. “I’m glad to see it’s supporting our troops.”

He noted the angle of the aircraft’s tail, the way the tail is swept far back, and the spacing of the engines, along with the tunnel between them.

Ruslan Pukhov, director of the Centre for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies in Moscow, confirmed that the planes are Russian MiG-29s, and also said the soldier on the far right in the ad carries an AK-74 assault rifle.

Beside myself with frustration.

All of my friends say well you might be right but what can we do about it, they are about to take the country and Republicans and fascism and it’s almost over we better be able to do something

One of my friends over and over assures me because Joe is leading no problem, I can’t convince him that they are going to do something really really bad in October

...stock photos.

It’s not a coincidence. It’s no mistake.

In the most delicate terms, may I say, gods damn them all to hell.

It is an anti-Vietnam War song about a outraged draftee slogging thru the jungles hoping to not get maimed or killed, and knowing that the reason he is there is because he is not “a Senator’s son” who was “born with a silver spoon in his hand.”

In other words, the soldier didn’t have a rich daddy who could bribe an orthopedist to fake X-rays of someone with bone spurs to get his kid out of the draft.

Why in hell would Trump use this song? Because he can. Because he likes pushing people’s faces into his outrages and calling them fools.

Everything Trump does is like that.

In the case of this ad — consider that he has surrounded himself with Russian operatives from the word Go. He might not pick the photos himself, or he might pick them from an array, but someone sure as hell knew.
