Sorry, Don, but Im not having anything injected into my body unless Anthony Fauci and other international researchers say its okay. I will get a flu shot, but thats it.
For all I know, you and your FDA are telling people that the equivalent of ultraviolet Clorox will be available by Election Day. But you should do your patriotic duty and be the first in line but being the coward that you are, you wont.
No thanks. Anybody who believes that a vaccine can be manufactured, tested, and approved in a matter of weeks deserves whatever they get. A year is considered to be extremely fast-track.
Sick and tired of this mans magical thinking/saying it makes it so horseshit, be it on climate change or medical science.

(2,636 posts)The FDA does not test the drugs. The FDA reviews the data that the drug company and the researchers compile. The data is driven by pvalues, that is, statistical significance.
I worked for ten years in clinical trials for Syntex (Later Roche) and other biotechs in the Bay Area in the go-go 90s. Much of my work involved hammering out consent form language with investigational sites, contract language with legal, and correspondence documenting various events or issues within each particular trial. At the close of a study, I performed a ton of audits to prepare for the possibility that the FDA very well could ask for all back up documentation between the investigator sites and the Research Associates runnings the trials. I also helped collect phase 4 long term safety data in marketed products.
Vaccines have historically been tested to higher levels of safety standards precisely because billions of people, not just Americans, will have to be vaccinated.
Fasted vaccine: Mumps, 1967. Took four years.
