Scam alert. I receive a telephone call from a company called Vtech Solution Antivirus

that they had renewed some $399 a year service that I clearly never signed up for. They said had 48 hours to call and cancel. Total scam, designed to collect more info on me or talk me into purchasing something. The computer voice said it was "Joseph S."

I recently put up a Craigslist add and I couldn't believe the lengths people were going to, it seems, create a profile of me... starting with email address, then home address and phone #... It was crazy. It wouldn't take long to figure out what they were up to, because they all behaved/sounded the same and were always just too eager to buy something without asking any questions.

on those calls, which they record to show as proof you agreed to their charging you, via you phone bill.

And the same phone company will not be helpful about removing the charge, come to find out.

Don't even answer it if you don't recognize the caller.

No stranger is calling you to do you a favor.

Doesn't happen.

I just laughed and put it in the spam folder.

It is unnerving, however.

10 mins ago the Amazon fake charge robocall came in. !!
"If you did not order $349.00 from amazon on your Visa card, pls call
346-787-3022"

Apparently the scam is to call and let the "Amazon rep" access your computer.

The call was on a very very bad tape. I've noticed that with several robocalls lately.
