is there a bat signal somewhere bearing his likeness?
He wouldn't be so popular if the police would stop murdering unarmed Black people.

(5,122 posts)I've always said, if something happens to me, or anyone in my family. First call I'm making is to Rev Al and one of the guys named above.
Rev Al said once - I'm paraphrasing here: "They say I'm looking for attention and publicity, they are right, publicity and attention to shine the light on these civil rights violations and injustices".
When your rights are violated the way these people's rights have been. You need all the attention. Unfortunately, we have seen where nobody cares, the powers that be do not care if they are not shamed into caring.
If not for Atty Crump and the his ability to draw publicity and shine light on the Breonna Taylor case, not only is Breonna dead, her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker goes to prison for probably the rest of his life. His life would not have mattered either. They wouldn't have thought twice about throwing his life away to protect these police officers.

(115,589 posts)and because of his national reputation he is consulted or hired when more such cases come up (and it would be great if they didn't and I think Mr. Crump would like it that way, too). This happens all the time - there's a lawyer in my area, Jeffrey Anderson, who started suing the Catholic Church back in the '80s on behalf of child abuse victims, and he ended up becoming nationally-known for these cases and representing victims from all over the country. What actually happens in these high-profile cases is that the lead attorney is the public face of the lawsuits but the grunt work is done by lawyers he associates with and who are licensed in the state where the claim arose, though he'd be admitted pro hac vice if he has to make court appearances.
