It bothers Jane Sanders when people say her husband is friends with Joe Biden. To be clear, she said, he isnt, they arent, etc. Not even in the Washington sense of the word. The characterization is one she regards as false and in need of correction, which she issued at multiple points in the course of a phone call last month from Burlington, Vermont.
Said Sanders: We dont go out together. We dont get dinner together. We work together, all of us, whether its Jill and me, or Joe and Bernie. Its built on work and there are differences.

This is the most important election of our lifetimes and what would it kill her?
You too, Bernie. If you are not going to help, just sit this out. OKAY?

(11,222 posts)Biden? I mean, I really have little to no expectations from Sanders. I doubt I am the only one.

(13,776 posts)I'm glad they work together. I'd rather they worked together than partied together. But what is this little tidbit in aid of, Jane? The idea that Joe and Bernie are friends IRL is not important enough to be "in need of correction" at all.

(100,133 posts)Hm? Because the majority chose Joe, and then Joe bent over backwards to get Bernies pet projects into the Dem platform. But its never enough with you, is it?

(42,031 posts)I think hanging out with Bernie for so many decades has made her a malcontent. She was very angry that he lost the nomination to Hillary and it seems she hasn't gotten over it.
Comments like this, that anyone thinking Joe and Bernie are friends is in need "of correction" are divisive and unhelpful.
Such a comment is also unnecessary because according to a number of Senators, Bernie doesn't have any friends in the Senate.

They're workplace friends, nobody ever said they were friends otherwise. Don't know why Jane is doing this now, is counterproductive when we need unity as election day nears.
