Trump, "Churchill stood on top of buildings as bombs were falling."

Last edited Sat Sep 26, 2020, 09:01 AM - Edit history (1)

'When Churchill was on the top of a building, and he said everything’s going to be good, everything’s going to be – be calm, and you have the Nazis dropping bombs all over London, he was very brave because he was at the top of a building,' Trump told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos.

**********

Yes, Churchill stayed in London during the Blitz but during the air raids he went down into his War Room which
was a bunker not far from 10 Downing St.. The British had radar and when they saw nazi planes coming they
sounded the warning, scrambled the RAF, the people of England went underground (the tube in London),
and Churchill went to his bunker. This is in all the history books and if you go to London you can visit Churchill's
"War Room."

Trump said George Washington’s army ‘took over airports.’

President Trump blamed a faulty teleprompter for a gaffe in his Fourth of July speech, in which he claimed that the Continental Army “took over airports” during the Revolutionary War — more than a century before the dawn of aviation

The man is beyond help. BTW I have visited that bunker too and the idea that anybody
would go there and ask to sit in Churchill's desk chair is just so gauche. Almost like a
person wouldn't take a 1 hour limo ride in the rain to honor the fallen Americans of WW I.
Who BTW lived in 12' deep trenches with rats, gas, bullets, poison gas, shell fire, death,
blood, madness, and every now and then some genius got the idea of leaving the trench
and running across "no man's land" into machine gun fire that covered the area with a
sea of lead.

After Trump is jailed, we need to seize his properties and convert them to socially beneficial uses. I propose Trump National be converted to a National Park.

And he never turned over highly classified intelligence to Germany so Hitler would like him.

Churchill projected strength and determination in the face of a life-or-death struggle, not pathological lying and delusion.

It costs him nothing to narrate Churchill's stand against the Germans in a factually accurate way. Honestly. It's so beyond embarrassing. Who the fuck would stand on top of a building during an air raid? It's mind-bogglingly stupid. There's no need to hype Churchill's actual deeds in this way. I mean, aren't right wingers like giant fans of military history? Aren't they embarrassed by this stupidity? I get that the whole point is to "trigger the libs," but don't these people have any dignity at all?

Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few", referring to the ongoing efforts of the Royal Air Force crews who were at the time fighting the Battle of Britain, the pivotal air battle with the German Luftwaffe, with Britain expecting an invasion. Pilots who fought in the battle have been known as The Few ever since; at times being specially commemorated on 15 September, "Battle of Britain Day".

I see toughness, grit, keeping a stiff upper lip, families, love, and the 2 air raid wardens and the man in the
suit who looks to be some kind of boss have the "Well, chaps what needs to done" look. on their faces.

This was their finest hour.

BTW now Churchill whenever he could would go and visit the areas that were bombed and talked to
the locals as they did their clean up.

Because you are a smart thinking being. One of the best things that help people
to think is to disagree without being disagreeable.

In private Joe Biden (and others) would disagree with President Obama ... it does nobody
no good to hear about how they are always right.
