Does anyone else have a bad feeling about the two months after election?

It feels unsettling and unpredictable, much like the feeling after Trump "won" the election in 2016.

We don't know what is going to happen, but we know it is not good.

We know it is coming and we are not prepared.

Election Day, I think I have PTSD from 2016. I keep rereading all the articles that reassure me things are better than 2016 but I’m still scared.

What frightens me the most is that Barr seems so smug and certain his side will win. That smugness worries me and makes me wonder what they have planned.

If I had a million dollars I would be spending some of it to hire a personal therapist to tell me constantly that everything is going to be okay and that we will win the Presidency and the Senate and be rid of Trumpism forever.

That will include the first stages of lining up investigations, because after this level of destruction of governmental norms there is no chance this crowd is just walking away from their crimes. I am not naively ignoring the attempted shitshow coming our way, but I insist on finding some means of staying positive instead of driving myself crazy with worry. I doubt Joe and Kamala are unaware of what is in store. They may have more up their sleeves to counter it than we know about at this time.

they know there will be consequences. In order to do anything Trump needs government employees to carry out his bullshit.
They can easily slow play the whole thing and nothing will happen. As far as his supporters, those that wont be on respirator by then arent going to start a civil war. They are mostly out of shape cowards.

the country. Federal lands, leasing and mineral rights, offshore drilling. Regulations revamped and rewritten. Oversight abandoned or perverted (look at USPS). International treaties and agreements. Judicial appointments. Wholesale pardons. Base closures. Disaster and emergency funding/aid. And on.

And -- unless the courts are willing to step up (wholesale) to intervene with restraining orders -- all perfectly legal, and within the executive's power. (and then of course -- Barr, standing at the ready ...)

its only two months which wont be enough to be resolved so it will be neutered by court restraining orders. Joe Biden's team recently announced they had put together a team of lawyers to deal with all those shennenigans. Luckily the state AG's have not been shy suing the Trump administration either.

of legal bulldogs ready to go -- is the most effective and smartest approach. Where I really disagree with you is in assuming that there won't be anyone in the government that will still be willing to advance and enact the Fuhrer's agenda following a defeat. I think there are still plenty in the ranks of the movement (Miller, Barr, Pompeo -- and many we've never heard of -- including many that think he is just as crazy as a sh*thouse rat) I can only hope you are right in thinking that the saner heads will be successful in "slow walking" much of their attempt during a lame duck.

I have the feeling that things are going to be pretty ugly, no matter what happens, or think happens. But what do we do to prepare for it? Stock up on water, food and TP? Buy ammoo? Make up protest signs? Block all the streets? What?

What should we do to get prepared? I have no idea.
