*sigh*

I have to get a lot of lab work done. I go to the hospital lab to do this.

I have a black cloth face mask that has an exhale valve. However, protecting the exhale valve on the inside of the mask is a two layered pocket with a filter inside. In spite of this, i don't want to make anyone uptight about the exhale valve. So when I go for my lab work, I wear the black mask, but I put a medical mask over that.

So I have two masks on, and THEN I put on a face shield, and then I put on nitrile gloves. I figure that people are at the hospital for a reason, and I'd rather go overboard than not.

I'm pretty sure I posted about the last time I was at this lab. I had to go again this morning. Things similar to what happened last time happened again today, only this time had a little twist.

1) Waiting in line to check in at the lab. Guy behind me was too close. Guess he couldn't read the big fucking circles on the floor, even though he was looking right at them. My response to him was "6 feet, pal". His response: "Oh yeah". The exact same thing happened to me the last time I was there.

2) Here's the good one: After I check in, I don't wait in the waiting room. I stand in the hallway, near an opened door where I can see the phlebotomist walk out into the waiting room and call my name. It is a very wide hallway, and less dense with people than the waiting room.

I'm standing in the hallway, watching the doorway, and this woman approaches me. She was masked, but I could tell she was smiling. I smiled too as she approached me. I figured she would stop when she got close, but she tried to walk right up to me. So now I'm walking backwards. First a few steps, then about 10 steps. She keeps coming. I stick my hand out like a traffic cop. She keeps coming, I keep walking backwards.

"Is this the entrance...."

I said no mam, the entrance to the lab is right down there. This is the exit.

She says "Oh no, I need a Covid test. Is this the entrance for that"?

Well, I got pissed. Jesus Christ lady, you are here for a Covid test and you're trying to get right up in my shit and you're making me walk backwards? I DON'T WORK HERE! ASK SOMEONE AT THE DESK!

I don't typically swear at people like that, but WTF? I don't understand. This is why I hardly go out.

There are too many people out there that don't view themselves as living in a society. They view the world as it affects them, and no one else.

That's my complaint for now. I'm sure I'll have a few more later.

Be careful out there.

About too many people who don’t consider themselves as members of a society. I see idiots ever time I go out not practicing social distancing. You wonder if they have been living in a cave or are just flat out stupid. I had a guy, a store employee, to boot, yell to his buddy down at the end of the aisle right when he crossed my path and was about a foot away from me. His breath actually made my hair move. Through a mask! What the fuck!!

Just go home and drink some bleach and shove a black light up your pooper.

Just follow your leader.

So, my partner went to Costco yesterday - (my experience with people not giving a shit about keeping distance there keeps me out from now on - yet partner still thinks it is ok to do - grr). While patiently awaiting a turn to pick out some bananas - waiting for the man there to make his choice and move on, said man removed his mask to let out a huge sneeze!! full out too, not in elbow or anything.

JFC! That is why I say, with numbers getting worse lately, not better, and people either not getting it, or not caring, etc - time to pony up for delivery only. Hope partner will get onboard.
Yes, I am now someone petrified of going anywhere. Even walking in neighborhood - peeps are out running, huffing and puffing, teen track teams all together spewing their aerosol all around, etc.
Couch now has a distinctive ass imprint.

People are idiots.

The OP nailed it: "There are too many people out there that don't view themselves as living in a society. They view the world as it affects them, and no one else."
