Fox News has made a round of layoffs, affecting less than 3% of staff, as part of restructuring efforts to streamline the business.
The outlet's on-air talent are spared, but every other part of the company is affected especially the hair and makeup teams.
The cuts mean hair and makeup will no longer be provided to Fox News guests, a source familiar with the restructuring told Business Insider.
This means that that anchors, which includes like Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson, will continue to receive those services.
The cuts are said to particularly affect its hair and makeup teams, meaning only regular on-air personalities will receive styling, as opposed to external guests, a source familiar with the restructuring told Business Insider

You know what they say: After 3 interviews, house guests are expensive and start to stink.

(7,539 posts)If their hair/makeup staff only works on their on-air hosts, they decrease the chances of spreading infection from random people. It's the same as the social distancing theory of limiting your in-person contacts to a known few.
Plus, aren't most guests now appearing by video? They shouldn't need to do hair and makeup for everyone.
