He's always leaning when speaking at the podium.

(7,911 posts)If he drops dead of natural causes Fox News will find a way to blame the Democrats, or the "deep state", and will crank the conspiracy engine up to full.

(11,514 posts)It doesnt appear he can stand for any length of time without some type of support to hold on to. His health is obviously failing.

(10,885 posts)tRump jumping at the chance to use it. Meanwhile, Joe should have the option of refusing one to show how fit and stable he is, especially by comparison.
tRuump will come off as the sloppy old man.

(10,885 posts)Just the announcement during the reciting of the debate rules would be jocular. "President tRump has elected to use a podium for this debate, while V.P. Biden has chosen to not use one."
l'il donnie could lean against his podium to hold himself up, and Joe could stand and roam free with no podium. It would make tRump look weak and impaired, and be done so by his own wishes!

(5,499 posts)If you couple that with obesity and the possibility of some minor strokes, he probably does have a hard time standing without leaning on something. It wouldn't surprise me if he had a walker in the private residence. Either than or he walks close to furniture so he can get extra support as he moves about.

(66,294 posts)Because to accept a prescription for treatment (of hyperlipidemia for example), to say nothing of filling it and taking it as directed, would be an admission that he's a human being with weaknesses and frailties like the rest of us.
I mean, those weaknesses are as plain as day to the rest of us, but to this narcissist? Probably not...

(527 posts)I am younger than don the con and myself have quite a few limitations. However, he outright mocks those who are limited and does not care about anyone. I want to mock him for his lack of caring, for his cruel on purpose policies and for his many lies. I would support a good leader who happened to have physical issues.

(107,766 posts)Franklin Roosevelt as we know was disabled and was one of the most compassionate and inspiring leaders ever.
As you say it's Trump's tendency to mock others with disabilties that is disturbing.
One might hope the physical limitations he seems to be facing would at least give him a sense of empathy but I think he might consider that a sign of weakness.

(8,908 posts)Joe should announce right at the beginning of the debate that he isn't going to use his.

(9,886 posts)fault him for anything that minor. Plus, I'm a leaner myself. And I have nothing at all wrong with me. I just lean if at all possible.
