The Trump campaign made their way through Iowa over Labor Day weekend. Then there was that Trump Boat Parade in Coralville on Labor Day. Looks like we're about 10 days out from those events and voila!
Red hats will line up for the chance to get sick, hurt the economy, and watch Grandma die just to own the Libs.

(11,579 posts)Trumpsters have drank the koolaid--we all know that, but it has also been said they won't realize until it affects them personally and hard. If they get Covid-19 and spread it to their family they may get angry enough at Trump/Pence not to vote or to pull the ticket for Joe/Kamala.
One can hope.

(10,495 posts)I know several here that this has already happened to. They have to kill a family member I guess before they MIGHT question their belief in Trump!

(11,579 posts)It gives me hope that others may, too. A dead family member and obscene hospital bills could help.

(11,579 posts)We've held on to hope for the last 4 years. Because of it we will be the blue wave that stops the red droplets cold.

(174 posts)pretty nicely, especially in Johnson County, where UI lives. I am familiar with frustration, as I think most of us are.

(64,995 posts)Not about your county, because you would know better.
But, the graphs don't suggest a downward trend over the last week.
The 7 day moving average did fall quite a bit from late August into September. Have to turn on the moving average by clicking the box under the 2nd chart.)
That average appears to be going back up for around a week.

(36,259 posts)A statistical analysis of COVID infections in cities where 45 has held rallies could be very enlightening, and help shape public policy (outside the WH, anyway).

(2,626 posts)It would also be helpful info for public health officials.

(599 posts)Gov Sisolak threatened to make Douglas County pay back some of the CARES act funds they received because of violating the statewide restrictions.
That rally was a 10 min ride from the local high school my kid goes to -- the only high school in the area. We know of a handful of high-school kids who went to the rally with their parents. Waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop on that, too.
I hope the gov does snatch the funding $ back from the county and give it to the schools in the district

(34,062 posts)Eyeballing it, it looks like double the average from the three prior weeks.
Similar for SD.
Ms. Toad
(34,062 posts)984 the prior week, 1129 the week before that. (The same data source, for consistency, says today is only up 1017 from the prior 24 hours)
