(15,526 posts)If you feel unsafe, then you probably are.
It's different in my area. I assumed the non-maskers would be even worse, given the angry "stink eye" that I used to get, but the compliance has been very good here ever since DeWine finally announced a statewide mandate in Ohio.

(38,607 posts)It's slacked off recently - as stores refuse to enforce the mandate. The county (and major city in it) have had to pass piggy-back orders to impose fines on businesses not enforcing the mandate.
I think the orders (at least the County one) are partly the result of my complaints - both to the board of health and to my spouse who sits on the board. My corporate complaints also seemed to have urged better compliance with one national chain.
Stay vigilant.

Not me!
And thank you for reporting the violations!

Nice that someone holding a garage sale is willing to refuse customers because of a mask. Pathetic.

(15,909 posts)Even with a fair number of Trumpers here in New Hampshire (although probably not enough for Trump to win this state) mask wearing is very common, close to universal in places like the stores that I go to, and I've not once seen mask wearing shunned.
Idiots with their noses hanging out over the tops of their masks? Unfortunately, a bit too much of that.

There's a lunatic here in town with that little gem in his front yard.
No more BS, from supporters that have been totally BS'd by their idiot king.
There's delusion mixed with the stupid.

(25,385 posts)Like they are going to win over voters by cussing at them.
They are truly pathological.
Also seeing several full size flags with Trump's head on Rambo's body, complete with machine gun spitting fire.
These flags can't be cheap, I wonder what they are paying for them.

(9,173 posts)personal protective measure, but as purely a political statement now. People like that are to be avoided, because they are suffering disordered thinking and may become aggressive or violent. I'm being completely serious. Every single person I pass by in the supermarket (one of the few places I go every week) with no mask is a person who wore one through the door to get in and then took it off--in short, an antisocial dishonest malevolent danger to society. At this point, 8 months and 200,000 deaths later, they are TRYING to spread the disease deliberately. They're complete psychos. Edit to add: It's interesting to see just how many people in your community are suffering from a personality disorder, though. Just from a purely scientific standpoint.

(63,221 posts)Seriously, these people are just out there looking for a fight. They are so filled with hate and bitterness that they can't contain it. It just flows out of them effortlessly.
I am glad I live in an area of the country where most people don't have a problem with masks and social distancing and don't get hostile toward people who wear them. I think I would have a really hard time being surrounded by people like that.
BusyBeingBest
(9,173 posts)Deliberate rule breaking, angry at the world, spoiling for a fight as you say. Non-maskers in April were possibly just slow to catch on or ignorant. Non maskers now are trying to draw attention to themselves for some sort of gratification that I find unnerving.

(9,173 posts)psychological going on in common. Nobody enjoys wearing masks, but most people do when asked to, whether just to follow the norm and not make trouble, or to protect oneself, or to be courteous to others. It's a good measure of how someone fits into society. The people strutting around bare faced are aggressors against society and social norms. It's not just political/Trumpian bullshit, because there are probably plenty of Republicans out there quietly wearing their masks (if only for self-protection).

(25,385 posts)I saw one big gomer at the grocery the other day just glaring at people, like he was challenging them to say something.
Also strange to see a family group, with the Mother and children wearing masks, and the Dad not wearing one.
They know they are being stupid and reckless, and they are proud of it.

(53,953 posts)A few weeks ago I went to a yard sale at a house that's had them before and discovered they're Trumphumpers. That's a real rarity in my neck of the woods. I'll never stop there again.

mask. Coughing and saying "so sorry, I haven't been feeling very good for several days now".

(2,636 posts)THis is what I do.
I'll comment to a dick nose nearby that the mask is useless, and use the penis/underwear analogy, then when they say they hav e medical condition, or they've been tested negative, I let them know I'm feeling so much better, but still testing positive.
They're only tough because they can't see it.
Put exposure in their face. They're cowards.

(11,467 posts)I saw it at the doctors office where even the med tech trolled me by pulling her mask down below her nose. Im pretty sure she got fired though, which is good. Any medical person who endangers their patients willingly needs to be fired.
These people are getting insane. Some of them absolutely want to hurt us, I am sure of it.
Dont know whats going on but its getting ugly.
