But they also don't need to, they've got 5-3 now. They could wait until after the election and do it in lame duck. I suspect Turtle will want to ram it through before, just to avoid Trump's unpredictability if he loses, or appears to.

(4,131 posts)He said the situations are different - that it is appropriate for a senate of the same pasty as the President to confirm a nominee. He said it is only inappropriate in an election year or the president and senate majority are from different parties.
