Mark Kelly, should he win the Arizona Senate seat, could be sworn in as early as Nov. 30

I unfortunately do not have a subscription to AzCentral, so I don't have a clue how this would work.

1. Does that also depend on whether McConnell would do the right thing?

And when it comes to the right thing, I don't think McConnell will ever do it.

3. Because she was appointed and it's a special election. That's why.

But it's McConnell who decides when a senator can take the seat I think. So, he could just hold off until January. If that's the case, though, the total needed for a majority changes.

And it’s a special election which means they are serving out the remainder of McCain’s term until 2022. So if Mark Kelly wins, he would have to run 2022 midterms in order to get a full 6 year term.

7. Makes sense. I thought this was the natural end of McCain's term.

Kelly should be seated as soon as the election is certified.
