They are positively giddy.
People always like to pretend there is a such thing as karma and that good always prevails over evil.
The reality is quite the opposite.
I didnt think I could be possibly be any more heartsick but every day brings a new low. I really cant take much more of this.

1) They are trying not to act too gleeful.
2) They are bending themselves into pretzels trying to explain why the McConnell Rule was a good thing in 2016 but should be ignored by McConnell himself in 2020.
