DeathSentence is at it again! The fuckstick has reduced early voting to 1 wee! It started off being 3 weeks over a decade ago, Scott reduced it to 2 years several years ago and now this year DS has it down to 1 fucking week, 10/24 - 10/31. There were 3 weeks of early voting for the primary but only 1 for the general - why is that? Just more repug Democratic voter suppression in action. What else are they going to do to stop us from voting? Be aware folks and ready to fight back.
Later - Sorry, after I got the above information from the FL state website, my husband notified me that counties can add extra days, so in Duval it starts 10/19 - still not nearly as early as we had before. Figures that a FL govt website wouldn't include this important information, god forbid they were above board. I'm sure the information was there somewhere, but it was not on the Early Voting for 2020 page. SMH
too crowded... That was in So Fla.. YMMV
I actually think that DeSantis act actually hurt republican voters more than Democratic voters. We have had a tendency to wait until Election Day to vote, republicans have voted early. I believe that the optimum early voting duration for the General is four weeks (28 days), ending the Friday before Election Day.
We get a shot at replacing DeSantis in 2022, but our task now is to replace Trump and republicans in this election.
I anticipate lining up at 5 am on election day. My hope is Biden will bank enough election day votes that Trump will be less likely to claim illegitimacy.
What does it matter? He is going to make his baseless claims regardless. And by the way Michigan does have early voting in person.
it starts next week. This is one of the locations.
"Starting Thursday, Sept. 24, voters in Ann Arbor, including UM students, can go to either city hall at 301 E. Huron St. or the UM Museum of Art at 525 S. State St., request an absentee ballot and vote on the spot, said City Clerk Jackie Beaudry."
No in-person early voting in Grand Rapids. Maybe in four years, hopefully.
Where are you getting that information? Here in Orange County (Orlando) we have early voting from 10/19 - 11/1.
The early voting period runs from Saturday, October 24, 2020 to Saturday, October 31, 2020, but dates and hours may vary based on where you live.
It should say in Florida the early voting period runs from October 19 to November 1 and the dates and hours may vary depending on where you live. So in some areas it only runs from October 24 - October 31.
By law, early voting must be held at least for 8 days. The mandatory early voting periods for 2020 are:
Presidential Preference Primary Election: March 7 14
Primary Election: August 8 15
General Election: October 24 31
Each county Supervisor of Elections may offer more days of early voting from one or more of the following days:
Presidential Preference Primary Election: March 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 15
Primary Election: August 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 16
General Election: October 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and November 1
Check with your county Supervisor of Elections for the additional days of early voting that may be offered in your county.
Early Voting will be held Monday, October 19, 2020 through Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
