Numerous voters tell me the death of #RBG motivated them to vote this morning

One voter told me: “I was already anticipating on coming out to vote early but after the passing of RBG last night, I made sure I was here at 7:30 this morning...We need to come out to vote like our lives depend on it so that's why I'm here.”

Hundreds of people are already lined up to vote early in Fairfax County, spanning across the Fairfax County Government Center, and have been here for hours. Polls don’t open for another 30 min.

That’s very good, but we were already going to win Virginia anyway. I’d like to see such sentiment in States like Florida, North Carolina, Ohio etc..

early voting started yesterday. The numbers, even before Justice Ginsburg's death, have been unprecedented according to the local registrars. This was VA's first election with expanded 45 day early voting. The legislature also voted to make Election Day a state holiday and removed the need to show photo ID at the polls. It shows what happens when your state flips from red to blue and both houses of the legislature go Democratic.

As for the other states you mention:
Ohio starts on 10/6 and runs through 11/2
NC starts on 10/15 and runs through 10/31
Florida starts on 10/24 and runs through 10/31

If you know people in these states, encourage them to vote early in person!

there that should be mostly blue (Cincinnati somewhat less so as it is right across the border from redder-than-red Kentucky.

Voter suppression? But that wouldn't explain the close poll results now.

Fox News effect?

We need to be reaching out to every dem senator demanding they do whatever it takes to block a nominee vote, and continue working as much as possible to get people to vote. It’s beyond time to fight back.

For anyone not too motivated by issues of rights or choice, the chances of another Bush v. Gore - even if Biden wins both the popular and electoral college by double digits - just went up 10-fold.

The rate of donations on ActBlue over the last 11 hours is almost 4x the average rate of donations during August, which was already stupendously high.

Average rate of donations:

Aug 2020 ~$10,000/min

Aug 2018 ~ $2,400/min

Aug 2016 ~ $825/min

For the last 11 hours, since I've been watching the average rate of donation has been $38,000/minute

So, hence my sarcastic remark about sending a strongly worded letter. It accomplishes nothing.

That being said, I am sick to death of the impotence shown by our leaders. How many subpoenas have been ignored?
