Representative David Howard Suggests Civil War if Obama is Re-Elected

http://intelligentdiscontent.com/2012/09/24/representative-david-howard-suggests-civil-war-if-obama-is-re-elected/

If we lose this election the Secular Socialist Democrats will place two more secular anti-American Justices on the Supreme Court and kill America from within.

This is reality and this will happen if we lose this election!

This could force American Patriots into a Civil war to regain our freedoms. Where we won’t be able to worry about being offended by what some people in a political party do or don’t do!

We’re not talking about some random constitutionalist living in the woods here, but someone the Republican Party in Montana has entrusted with a committee chairmanship in the Legislature. We’re talking about an elected official who is so far removed from reality that he honestly believed a civil war might be necessary if his side loses a political election.

My families are there and my poor mother tells me all the time she has to listen to "Obama the communist" crap from family and friends. They have no idea anyone else could possibly not agree with them.

It's not so much the tea baggers I see as the growing problem there as the "rural businessman" who thinks they are doing it all on their own - save for all the government contracts they get. I mean even the airport needs subsidizing for their business to stay alive. They all think if they don't pay taxes they'll be rich. Never mind their communities are all sucking now because they have no sidewalks or decent roads.

You can go to any state and find clusters of towns and congressional districts that are just overloaded with wingnuts, even in blue states. MT still doesn't seem as bad as Wyoming or Idaho. But it can be an uphill struggle.

who just spent three weeks there this summer, I heartily agree that it can be an uphill struggle in pockets, but it is not a statewide thing. Just as Texans, Southerners and others take justifiable umbrage at being painted with a very broad brush by outsiders, I take umbrage with inaccurate characterizations of my home state from people who have never lived there and who seemingly don't have a clue except from travel posters and articles like this one.

Yes, MT has some true nitwits, just as MN has Michele Bachmann, WI has Scott Walker, MO, has Todd Akin, KS has Sam Brownbeck, TX has Rick Perry, etc., etc., etc. Even my adoptive state of MD, blue as it is, has idiots like Roscoe Bartlett!

Some of Montana's wingnuts stand out a bit more simply because they can't get lost in the crowd. Remember that there fewer than one million people in the entire state, which is the fourth largest US state in territory.

But remember also Brian Schweitzer and Denise Juneau at the DNC: they have LOTS of mainstream fans in MT. Jon Tester, while he has had to be much less liberal than I personally would like, is trending upwards; the Dem candidate for Gov is looking good and hopefully, the Dem candidate for Congress will prevail although that will definitely be an uphill struggle.

MT is also the state of Jeannette Rankin, who would NOT fit into today's GOP, and who helped with women's suffrage movements on an international level as well as in her home state. There is also the late great Mike Mansfield, whose center in Missoula is dedicated to promoting understanding of international affairs, particularly Asian affairs, and ethics in public affairs. http://www.umt.edu/mansfield/

People here should think about what they post. There are nutty individuals everywhere and sometimes it seems as if the nitwits are in the ascendant. But that does not mean that we here at DU should sink to their levels.

but for the most part, this kind of talk was absent in 2008.

It was the beginning of the tea party before they got media attention. Give this unfortunately inflammatory link a good look. See the dates and understand that this is not new, it's been building:

http://www.infowars.com/about-alex-jones/

When you read people carrying on about the federal reserve, drone killings, civil liberties, the police or surveillance state, and other 'atrocities' under Obama, remember that they said it about Bush and Clinton, and see Obama as no different, part of a long line of tyrants.

Remember the militias under Clinton, the ones saying that Hillary was going to install death panels and communism with health care, and you'll see that none of this is new and that a generation born since Clinton has grow up with this world view. We don't want to believe that it is that bad, and ignore them at our peril.

I miss Art, too. You just never knew who was going to call in and he never suffered fools, though he would let all sorts of amusing callers check in. It was a fun distraction if you were up all night.

Noory seems rather juvenile to me, and as if he's getting fanned and fed peeled grapes while his callers are talking. He'll check in after letting a guest or caller go on for a while and ask some inane question and you just think the guy is very disconnected from his own shows.

I get a nice vibe from him as well. I can believe what you're saying about how he seemed when you met him.

He is respectful, attentive and he doesn't have an agenda, and he has an old school voice that gives the show a sort of vintage flavor.

Wells has a great Art-like deep voice, but he's as shallow as a cookie sheet when it comes to topics. He's agenda driven and desperately sucks up to libertarians and racists.

George Knapp for the win!

type of people were surprised, I think, by the election of Obama. They thought then that mccain-palin were going to win no matter the polls. Then they have had three years of hate radio to tell them about this black president being a muslim and non-citizen and angry. This presidential election and congressional races are anything but predictable as is the unpredictability of this nation surviving it's immense ignorance, stupidity and racism. These type of people have a precedent. Our civil war based on an unpopular president with unpopular ideas that racist pigs took offense with.

Treason lost its meaning in the legal system. Sedition is almost never charged. Elected officials serve at the whim of their constituents and reflect their warped values and venality. Unless this particular POS, just one of many GOP, was literally incarcerated and denied the privilege of his office, he'd be re-elected for this screed. There is an entire generation brought up on the world view espoused by this POS, so he gets a pass.

Besides, he hasn't been charged with anything. There have been Republicans calling for revolution and killing Obama for quite some time now, and nothing has ever been done about it. And as long as they hold majority in states and the House of Representatives, nothing will ever be done.

When we had Democratic majorities in D.C. in the Nixon era, there were enough people to hold him to account. He resigned because he knew their next move was impeachment. They would have rightfully done so, to protect the political system, considering his guilt, which was proved in criminal court. His conspirators went to prison in his stead.

He left office and Ford used his privilege immediately to pardon him for those crimes. Then Carter was elected to get back to where we needed to be and the eternal enemy of democratic government reared its traitorous head again and has never stopped being in control. People that want to blame Obama for the direction this country is in, and has been headed on for over thirty years must be political neophytes or swallowed Fox, libertarian and conspiracy lies of all three media.

This gang has been steadily transforming this country with Koch monies, right wing religion and media. They have been playing on the easily corrupted, with a long term game that has changed the culture of this country. If they weren't so destructive, I'd give them a high five.

I wish that the Section of the 14th you quoted was taken seriously in this country. Proabably less than a 1/3rd of the voters even comprehend the language contained in the Constitution anymore. Most likely, 1/3 believe the Constitution as revised by Falwell, Robertson and every scummy GOP who has a bull horn.

Yes, sedition is insidious and treasonous...

But this man makes no sense. What " Secular Socialist Democrats"? Who's really socialist? "two more secular anti-American Justices on the Supreme Court"??? Two MORE? Who are the anti-American judges there now (besides Alito and Thomas)

Who the hell is trying to "kill" America?

"This is reality" No. This is paranoid nuttiness.

I mean, it's one thing to have different ideas, but there is a group inside that seems to have all the awareness of some European invader in early North America.

Their campaigning skills are quite good, as are their organizing skills. But what's on the inside is just mush.

I don't understand the whole picture here with all the pooh pahing and joking, but jerks like this got voted into office. To me that means there are a lot of people that think like this jerk, therefore, it is only logical that there are large numbers of these dangerous, seditious americans. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so. Where it was the south last time, the western states, western from my geographic location, seem to be going into racist apoplexy. keep your power dry.

Our opponents have been on a long-term mission, year after year, working on school board races, muni, county, and state races, because they know local is where they can have great influence. They are very good at campaigning, and organizing, and many are as willing to see the country in ruins as win.

But getting together and laughing over your racist jokes is far different from facing the US Government, which is exactly who they would be fighting.

In a recent glorious mission we killed tens of thousands of soldiers, at least hundreds while they were trying to surrender, burying some of them alive with their stupid white flags, shooting them in the back as they gave up and ran. White flags - funny - like they thought we had any compassion. (Watching too many American movies, perhaps). We sent, and send, missiles in to their neighborhoods, sometimes blowing babies clean through the roof. Makes people like that guy feel tough, what with cardboard airplanes carrying real missiles. Our current President even says the War Powers Act lets him kill any American anywhere in the world without a trial if they can call them a credible threat. We have working drones 20 minutes away from the person in Montana, on the border. No missiles. Not yet.

We are so much better at killing than this cretin gives us credit for. He has no conception of what a civil war would bring.

I am guessing they have been watching Independence Day, (where a kid Patrick fights the Russians in the mountains of the U.S. with his hunting rifle). But they forgot it was a movie.

It all hot air, and stupid hot air at that.

Civil war is what the Republican conservative right and Obama haters have been wishing for from the time Obama mentioned he was going to run for office of the president.
They have also been telling their people to stock up on arms and ammo.
They has been full of anger since then, and since it is looking like he might win this election again they are so full of rage that they can not see straight.
They see everything only in Black and White, you are either with us,or against us.

I also truly believe that this nut case is right, and they Will take to their Guns this time, just look at the fear and listen to their rants and fear mongering it is like it will be then end of the world,Armageddon,Rapture time,if Obama wins again.
they will take to their guns while quoting their favorite line that "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

seriously I think as a nation our biggest mistake was in fighting the civil war in the first place. Ever since we have been jumping through hoops trying to keep the 'rebels' appeased up to and including in most cases supporting them financially. Check the facts, without the Union, most of these states are not and will never be viable on their own. Let them succeed, most of them will end up failing economically etc and will petition to come back to the union. And this time we can forgo all the garbage of trying to 'appease' the southern sensitivities, that has created much harm in order to maintain the union.

Armageddon during his first term. The anti-Christ does not care if he is a one or two term president. The anti-Christ does not need a "mandate" to destroy the world.

You know what really chaps the right wing's ass? They knew that 2008 was going to be a Democratic year. After 8 years of W. and two stolen elections, there was no way the nation was going to give the WH to the GOP again. They figured that if a Black guy won, he would be easy to beat in 2012 when voters stopped being mad at W. and suddenly took a good look at their president and said to themselves "Dear Lord! Our president is a _____!"

Shows what the right wing knows. Now they have to pin their hopes on voter suppression and E-vote fraud----all under the watchful eye of Eric Holder who will send them to jail if they get caught.

Wed Sep 26, 2012, 07:45 AM

Really, one of the major arguments about guns for everybody is to defend themselves from the government. In Texas, everyone of the militias with a web site in their mission statement claim they are to defend the constitution. What they fail to say is who decides. Real militias, the ones we had before the National Guard act, were inspected and regulated by the states. These modern "militias" report to no local, state, or national authority, and citing Thomas Jefferson as their spiritual source, believe themselves to be the counterbalance to central government.

The funny, really actually funny thing, is that Thomas Jefferson was an anarchist. He did not believe in any government above a township. Thomas Jefferson was really our first OWS member (unless you count Ben Franklin).

The real problem, in all seriousness, is that we have a Texas Judge of the same opinion (in Texas, judges are the executive branch of the county government, no necessarily bench sitting judges with legal training, just elected). These Republicans have a habit of talking themselves into believing and ACTING on those delusions that they convince themselves are real. Consider Mitt's 47% comment.
