24. When I worked at the polls a few years ago

there were instructions to not allow any political signs/clothing/etc within 100 feet of the entrance to the polling station. I was signing people into the process when I noticed a woman wearing a "W" pin. (it was 2004). I asked her to remove it. She got furious when I explained the reason. She ultimately didn't refuse and removed it but immediately after she voted she complained loudly to the Precinct Manager. He supported my position. She was one unhappy camper. Thought she was going to explode when I asked.

You are supposed to either take the things off, or conceal them, and you aren't supposed to display signs within a certain distance of the entry. If you wear anything, and somebody notices, they'll make you take it off or conceal it before you get to vote.

When I went to my polling place the last few times, I did wear a plain light blue shirt. And my husband would wear his navy blue sweat shirt.
