Trump's travel ban likely accelerated the spread of the coronavirus in the US: Bill Gates

Microsoft founder Bill Gates said the travel ban implemented by President Trump earlier this year may have accelerated the spread of the coronavirus in the US.

Speaking to Fox News in an interview that will be aired on Sunday, Gates said that the ban made thousands of people rush back into the country, but a lack of safety measures upon their return caused the virus to continue spreading.

"We created this rush, and we didn't have the ability to test or quarantine those people," Gates told "Fox News Sunday" anchor Chris Wallace.

"And so that seeded the disease here. You know, the ban probably accelerated that, the way it was executed."

1. That certainly seems plausible.

I remember seeing pictures of people jammed together in security lines, or waiting to clear customs.

2. Yep! Everyone in Europe scrambled to get back

before the ban took effect. Lots and lots of them passed through New York. They were packed in the airport for hours waiting to clear customs. Itís hypothesized thatís why NY got hit so hard so early.

3. I recall someone posing that they were shocked

upon returning to the US to find no safety or screening protocols in place. They just walked thru the airports with no officials to even check their temperature or question their travel history as the European airports had done prior to leaving.

Trump is just as incompetent as the idiots he surrounds himself with. You know the govt has well established health protocols in place because of all the previous disease threats we've dealt with in the past.

Why didn't anyone have the intellect to set the safety system rolling? Or, as I suspect is more likely, who blocked any screening of returning US residents to hide the fact that we are dealing with a deadly disease and not just a bad cold or a Chinese hoax?

4. Yep!

I remember being horrified by the packed airports. People were paying thousands to come back. Not everyone was wearing a mask and there was ZERO social distancing
