song.

Abraham, Martin, and John.

I wasn't politically aware in 1968 being only 4 for most of it, but I can't help having that same hopeless feeling folks must have felt after Robert was assassinated.

I was starting to be politicaly active before '68 at 14. So I was following the '68 Election at 15. Bobby was my candidate...

It was devastating.

As is losing our Notorious 💖 RGB.

Oh, and I still get teary eyed on the rare occasion that
I hear A,M, & J.

I remember my mom's last 24 hours or so in hospice - the restlessness, trying to get out of bed, etc. even though she could not communicate. Once my brother made it in from out of state, she relaxed immediately and passed within an hour or so.

When I think about the weight that Justice Ginsburg must have been carrying at the end...

The one good thing is her burden has been lifted and the pain she must have suffered has come to an end. I mean this is a woman who was being eaten alive with cancer. The fact that she held on so long is a testament to her courage and tenacity. She's entitled to rest now.

It's up to us to carry on.

Btw, I love this graphic. I'm guessing it would have given RBG a belly-laugh.

I'm not Jewish & I'm far from an expert on Judaism & beliefs about the afterlife, but I was scolded by a couple folks who are Jewish (as was RBG) that my "rest in peace" wish for her was not appropriate because of her religious beliefs. I deleted my post & since then I've refrained from sharing anything that has Christian imagery (like the angels & heaven in this cartoon) because I don't know if they're consistent with, or offensive to, her religious beliefs.

As I said, just an FYI.
