HHS secretary says all 'Warp Speed' vaccines will have 'liability protection' from lawsuits

https://www.rawstory.com/2020/09/hhs-secretary-says-all-warp-speed-vaccines-will-have-liability-protection-from-lawsuits/

Pharmaceutical companies that produce COVID-19 vaccines through the federal government’s “Warp Speed” program will automatically have liability protection, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex Azar said on Monday.

Azar was asked about the progress of COVID-19 vaccine trials during an interview with Fox Business host Stuart Varney.

“We now have three vaccines in phase three clinical trials here in the United States, which is just unprecedented — the speed that we have been able to go given President Trump’s support of Operation Warp Speed,” Azar explained. “These are some of the largest clinical trials of vaccines in history.”

“We believe by the end of the year that it’s highly credible that we will have in the tens of millions of doses of FDA gold standard vaccine,” he continued. “We literally have made millions of doses of vaccine already thanks to Warp Speed.”

The Dr or the hospital. It subtle, but it’s there.

Same thing here. It doesn’t matter the contract if they fuck up big time they are liable. It’s the same as saying okay, even if you aren’t qualified go ahead, cut me up and leave me for dead. Nope!

doing.

The liability protection crap for the companies is not unexpected, but it eliminates any Federal pool for compensation as well.

Azar's moves to make him the Czar over any and all decisions for FDA, CDC, and other health agencies is beyond Fascistic.

Controlling the media for those agencies, constantly removing staff-offered recommendations at CDC for those produced by WH flunkies...

Pushing Fauci so far out of the picture he becomes nearly meaningless and while nearly worthless on a good day, Birx has been sidelined as well.

and on and on and on.

I've spent much of my life advocating for vaccines and public health and still do. But, this is an obscene intrusion that leaves even those normally willing to be "first" to run for the hills--at least for the time being.

And in this case, they're being paid whether they use it or trash it.
They've got no motivation to not get ahead of it, in case it's a good vaccine.

Speed with which vaccine has been developed isn't the most important thing about a vaccine.

No equivocation, the Secretary said they have (not will have or hope to have, but have) millions of doses already. I hope some starry-eyed courtesan from the Fourth Estate can shake the enchantment of covering the White House for a moment and follow up on that statement by the Secretary.

Wayyyy early. Before human trials I think.

They are doing this with 3 or 4. Sounds super expensive actually, not to mention clogging up vials and probably making it harder for a real vaccine to get readied when the time comes.
