This is the payoff so many Republican Donors and voters have been waiting for. Its why they have stood by an incredibly flawed party. Its their end game. And Senate Republicans know this. And they know (and I truly believe this) that if they dont deliver now, theyre done as a party. Cause the ones propping them up have waited
decades for this moment, and many will be absolutely done if Senate Republicans dont come through. So theyll take the hit for being hypocrites and gamble that this is the better option for them, cause not doing it is game over.
Our focus may well have to be looking forward and making them pay as much as possible at the ballot box,

(5,922 posts)I don't think there is a way, but if it can be found, it should be pursued - for exactly the reasons outlined in the OP.

(7,820 posts)If there is any way, the Senate Dems need to pursue it. Take the gloves off... this is for all the marbles.

(92,060 posts)of Congress, and if successful in the election, remove the filibuster, make DC a state, restore the voting rights act, pass healthcare that includes a public option, that these pieces of garbage cant repeal, protect the CDC, FDA, and NIH from political interference, protect Roe through legislation that privacy between a person and their physician is sacred, enact a jobs program, environmental rights, civil rights, workers rights, rebuild alliances with our allies, protect the post office, etc, etc, etc
A lot of things, and maybe just a small two year window to enact it
