(82,849 posts)On January 20, 2009, the day of Obama's inauguration, the DJIA closed at 7,949.09.
On September 21, 2012, the DJIA closed at 13,579.47. This was an increase of 70.8%
On January 20, 2017, the day of Trump's inauguration, the DJIA closet at 19,827.45.
On September 21, 2020 (today), the DJIA closed at 27,147.70. An increase since Trump's inauguration of 36.9%
If the DJIA had performed as well under Trump as it did under Obama, it would have closed more than 6,500 points higher today, 33,865.28.

(64,413 posts)DJIA, S&P, & NASDAQ all rebounded and got back between 50-88% of earlier losses.
It was not quite the bloodbath it appeared in the first several hours.
All three regained that value in the last 70-100 minutes, depending on the index.
Seems like a suckers' rally, to me.
