Maybe it isn't religion?

Amy Coney Barrett is a deeply devout Roman Catholic with a slug of kids.

Nancy D'Allesandro Pelosi is a deeply devout Roman Catholic with a slug of kids.

Both went to Catholic schools. Both grew up in catholic families.

Not sure this means anything, actually, but it sure seems curious.

It can be an instrument of great good or great evil, and that all depends on the intent of its believers.

My aunts were/are devout Catholics and both had a slug of kids (a total of 20 between them). My mother was also devout but only had 2 kids, she always swore it was just luck.

Some of their kids, my cousins, are still devout Catholics, and only one has more the 2 kids - and that one has 3. I don't think something "natural" happened to slow the family fertility rate. Times and attitudes change, even among Catholics.

I seriously wonder about any Catholic woman who still listens to Rome about birth control.

3. Amy Coney Barrett belongs to an "ecuminical group" called "People of Praise". It's like a cult.

Amy Coney Barrett is a member of People of Praise. I am very skeptical of these extremely conservative “Christian” organizations, some of which are very cult-like.
https://meaww.com/amy-coney-barrett-people-of-praise...
“The most controversial aspect of the People of Praise is the practice of headship or pastoral leadership, which, according to anthropologist Thomas Csordas, is where "individual members are supervised in their daily lives by a person regarded as more 'spiritually mature.'"[26] Pastoral care is considered an important service within the community; it is believed to foster relationships of love, service and charismatic ministry.[22]:15. Each member has someone called a "head", who acts as a personal adviser. In general, heads give encouragement, correction, and help in decision-making. Men have other men as their heads. Married women are headed by their husbands. Single women and widows usually have other women as their heads. Men and women with the appropriate skills are assigned as heads by the coordinators.[citation needed] People of Praise”

I can't imagine Nancy Pelosi giving her husband "headship" over her.

What is People of Praise? A look inside Amy Coney Barrett's church that inspired 'The Handmaid's Tale'

Amy Coney Barrett is an active follower of the People of Praise church and while people have praised it, others have scrutinized their beliefs

Though the same religion produced the Inquisition, Opus Dei, Father Coughlin — and Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta, the Berrigans and the three Kennedy brothers, and Catholic Workers, as well as Nancy Pelosi.

I take each individually, though some days it is hard. The influence of Opus Dei on the Supreme Court is so pernicious that I view any further appointments of Catholics with a jaundiced eye. They agree with the Evangelicals that what this country needs is a good dose of theocracy.

Activist religions in particular... In no other section of our lives are we expected to suspend our disbelief so much as religion.

11. I believe Barrett is a member of a Catholic Pentecostal variant viewed by the church as a cult.

.

So, she's part of a Catholic variant of The Assemby of God.

This is a group that speaks in tongues, view those who speak in tongues as blessed by the Holy Spirit and have the Holy Spirit live within them forever--anything they do is blessed by God. Furthermore, when they die, they automatically go up to Heaven and sit by the right side of Jesus.

In that church, there is a big push to pretend to speak in tongues, because those in the church who do not must be damaged some way, where the Holy Spirit has not deemed them worthy--it's a big incentive to speak in tongues.

If you hate who you are, deep down, you are easily manipulated by ideologies that propose that you are better than other people for WHAT YOU BELIEVE, not who you are or what you do.

You have to love yourself, if you can't do that, you are doomed.
