Its not the fact that you immediately demonstrated your hypocrisy by trying to push through your SCOTUS nominee this close to an election, despite saying the exact opposite when it was a Democrat in the White House. We all saw that coming from light years away.
We also knew that you would completely ignore the death of an American icon, and that your voters would actually celebrate her passing. Weve long ago accepted that Republicans are mannerless pigs, so no surprise there.
What is truly galling about the behaviour of the GOP is the fact that you couldnt wait a week before doing what everyone knew you were going to do anyway.
It should have been a week full of kind words, meaningful observations, funny anecdotal stories about Ruth Bader-Ginsburg from Republicans acting in the same way Democrats have on the passing of a prominent Republican.
One fucking week! Could Republicans being asked to comment on replacing RBG on the Court not have answered with a simple: Justice Bader-Ginsburg has just passed. Its not the time to discuss this?
Could you not have at least publicly feigned some sense of respect while salivating over her passing behind closed doors?
We, the decent people of the United States of America, are appalled by your lack of common, everyday manners but sadly, we are not in the least surprised.
You actually might have done yourselves some good politically by at least pretending to act honourably. But youre no longer even capable of pretence because especially over the past four years you have so blatantly exposed who you really are.

(575 posts)That have been struck from the GOP lexicon. It's dog eat dog world after all. Getting rich by any means possible is the hip thing to do. I began to mourn for our world in the eighties when the meme "greed is good" went viral.
To your point Nance the piggies wallow in the filth of their empty prisons of wealth.

(38,958 posts)Is the apparent surprise by the OP at the lack of any decency on the part of the republicans.
Makes a nice rant I suppose, but really nothing beyond that.

(27,813 posts)I was surprised by the failure to fake decency when it would have been politically advantageous to do so.

(5,113 posts)which I find disconcerting. As if they already know they are not going to give up one microbe of power and position. I find that a bit scary, and very upsetting.

(2,647 posts)But, by the same token, I was not surprised by their failure of having even a little fake decency. Today's republicans have no decency, fake or otherwise.
Thanks to their worship of trump, they have no moral compass, no honesty, no integrity, and no decency fake or otherwise.

(10,429 posts)They don't care enough to bother acting with a little decency. Neither is really a surprise.
What is scary is the fact that the people who vote for them also apparently don't care about real or perceived decency at all.
