Louisville barricades, Breonna Taylor's mom talks 'justice' as KY awaits announcement

After months of waiting for an answer in the Breonna Taylor case, anticipation for an announcement Tuesday from Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron led to restricted access to downtown Louisville and reaction from Taylor’s family.

The Louisville Metro Police Department announced Tuesday that vehicle blockades, and traffic and parking restrictions would be in place. The restrictions were being implemented to “ensure the area is as safe as possible for those coming downtown to express their First Amendment rights, as well as those who live and work in the area,” the department said in its announcement.

While no information had been released as of Tuesday morning about whether charges would be filed against the officers involved in the shooting death of 26-year-old Breonna Taylor, Taylor’s mother, Tamika Palmer, posted on Instagram “Dear Breonna, Justice is coming.”

On Monday, it was reported by the Louisville Courier Journal and other outlets that the Louisville Metro Police Department had canceled upcoming days off for their officers in preparation for any community reaction from the announced decision.

The federal courthouse in Louisville was also closed for the week and boarded up as word of an upcoming announcement spread.

"They were fearful for their lives and because they were police, had a right to shoot at the first thing that popped up in front of them, even during a no-knock raid."

No-knock raids are just another way for police to carry out random extra-judicial murders of "those people" - the untermenchen with impunity.

Are they waiting to release it just before nighttime, to draw out as many people as possible for their planned violent behavior? Waiting for folks to get off work? Wanting to draw them out at night, when the agitators they’ve hired are scheduled to arrive?

They could’ve released this morning, why the wait?

Don’t take the bait, folks. Louisville wants to blame Breonna’s death on you.
