With help from Michael Jordan and current NASCAR superstar Denny Hamlin.
Ive heard they will have several millions in sponsorship money from companies that have existing ties to Jordan, Hamlin, and Wallace including Nike and McDonalds. Hamlin has been friends with Jordan for several years and is one of the favorites to win this years NASCAR championship. They will team up with Joe Gibbs Racing, a team that is loaded with money and resources.

The hoops icon announced on Monday that he and and NASCAR superstar Denny Hamlin have teamed up to form a new racing team. They've recruited Bubba Wallace to be its driver.
Wallace, the only Black driver at NASCAR's top level, became known to many outside the sport this summer when members of his then-racing team Richard Petty Motorsports discovered a noose hanging from a garage assigned to the driver at the Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama.

(6,038 posts)Richard Petty may have been arguably NASCAR's greatest driver but Petty Motorsports, try as they may, is a 2nd tier team.
Joe Gibbs Racing has been the flagship Toyota team for many years. The partnership with Gibbs, Hamlin and Jordan should be competing for wins right off the bat, similar to when Hendrick Motorsports and Jeff Gordon got together and fielded a car for young Jimmie Johnson many years ago.
And, trust me, NASCAR is doing a happy dance, because of a high profile name like Michael Jordan, and his ability to attract more $$$$ to the sport.
