Those of us that did not want Biden but any number of other candidates and solidly stand behind Biden. That was us saying, we are not voting for the self declared socialist.

...if you think this isn't going to increase the number that vote third-party (or just don't bother to vote at all), think again. You can't repeatedly crap on part of your base and expect them to support you nonetheless.

Would you like to take back the White House or not?

Oh, right, the Socialists have never taken the WH in the first place.

They'd call him a socialist. It's an old playbook and the media is feeding into it.

Hint, we ALREADY have a shit load of socialism here, TONS OF IT. My issue with a lot of our socialism is too often the corporations get the socialism and not the people.

This is so tired.

The general election electorate does not get the difference between socialism and democratic socialism. And it is not Joe Biden's job to educate them. His job is to win.

Biden does not represent either of those ideologies. He represents the broad middle of the party. He was not favored by people on Twitter or self-styled activists or the New York Times editorial board. He got the nomination because of African-American women, union leaders, retirees, the middle-aged -- the broad middle.

Good on him for pointing that out.

11. I've always considered the Democratic Party an "open tent" party that welcomes all into the fold.

Things like Medicare, Social Security, and Healthcare for all are pretty popular ideas and all reflect some degree of Democratic Socialism. No it is not Joe Biden's job to educate the voting public but I do think it is better to define what you stand for instead of just saying what you are against.

The GOP is the party of "No". We are the Party of "Yes".

Even if it was local, I'm sure Fox News viewers watch local Fox affiliates. And as such, he had to speak slowly and in words that don't require their thinky parts to engage. If he tried to describe the nuances between the current Democratic party, democratic socialism and socialism (and their interconnectedness), they'd call him an egghead socialist and stop listening.
