If it's not possible to secure an n95 for in person voting, I read an interesting research study on how wearing multiple surgical masks increases filtration. 2 masks are 40% more effective than 1, and 5 masks offers double protection?

Test it out beforehand though... I tried wearing 2 masks the other day at the doctor's office and felt super claustrophobic to the point where I was scared I would cough. I got used to it but in the beginning it's a little panic inducing.

This happened to me a short while ago. I got dizzy and almost passed out. Took off the 2 masks and recovered.

I agree that multiple masks can be helpful but also can see that it’s necessary for me to hold it away from my mouth and nose somehow. Some kind of a structure should help. It’s never happened to me before or since.

I always thought the people who said that masks made it difficult for them to breathe were lying until it did actually happen to me.

I think if I had replaced the wet mask with a clean dry one I probably would’ve been fine.

I saw in several places that coffee filters were pretty good at filtering aerosols.

Wearing 5 masks? Yikes!

Douse your clothing with disinfectant before getting in line and carry a plastic bag of disinfectant wipes in your pocket to use when you feel it is necessary. Also glove up but remember to throw the gloves away immediately after voting. You will need sunglasses if your voting day is sunny and bright. This will also protect your eyes somewhat.

I also wear a cap or head scarf when shopping at the grocery store. It may sound silly to some, but I always spray my clothes front and back before putting them on to go outside in public. Spray Nine or Lysol. Clorox will fade or damage your clothes but Clorox wipes are good for wiping down surfaces you think might be contaminated.

Anyway, that's my story and I'll be sticking to it. All this should make flu season a lot shorter and weaker.
