Coronavirus misinformation rumors

A month ago I met a friend who told me a story that HIS FRIENDS went testing for COVID-19. Filled out the paperwork and got in-line waiting to be tested. Before I continue, I like to clarify that I have never tested so I don’t know the actual process of taking the COVID-19 test. My friend continued that his friends were waiting so long so they left. Days later they received notices that they had coronovirus. However, I did not think seriously about this story until yesterday.

Just yesterday I met a clergy friend. He stated the same thing. HIS FRIEND went testing and left without being tested due to a long line. He also receive a notice of being infected.

I tried to google the rumor and it pointed to Florida. Anyone hears or knows anything about this. The misinformation is trying to play down the total number of infection and deaths. Both of my friends are Republicans.

I’ve seen it too.

I think it had more hope of being effective before 200k dead. But then they just switch to “only 6% of those deaths are from Covid” nonsense.

story from a drive up test site. The positive test result is true but mismatched to the wrong person.

info was assigned to what test number. Thy didn’t just go. They signed in to get the test and then left. (It’s why hospitals triple check those funny little bracelets.) So, someone else’s test was wrongly assigned to “the friend.” Doesn’t change test data at all but does mean someone who was positive didn’t get notified.
