I have a question re: new impeachment hearings

I read that Nancy Pelosi may use a new round of impeachment hearings to delay or derail the SCOTUS nomination, claiming this will "tie up the Senate".

My question is how does she think this will tie up the Senate? Don't they do as they please? Couldn't Mitch, after refusing witnesses in the last hearing, just proclaim this political and leave it on his desk as he has all legislation since 2008?

I fucking hate that it's no longer hyperbolic to assume the Senate Majority Leader will just continue to bypass norms but in a more dramatic and escalated way.

When asked if she'd rule it out, she said she wouldn't rule anything out. She said that more to poke at Trump than as a sign that she's seriously considering it.

As the other poster noted, it would have zero impact on the process. It would probably cost us the election, however.

ignored this message and we are now in a difficult spot which will not be solved in Congress unless we win the Senate...and of course the presidency. That must be our priority.

But not a chance in hell that it will happen. IMO, I wish she would impeach Barr.
