...with no redeeming, or even progressive thread to the appeal. Nothing associated with the impetus behind protests, just a pat invitation to gawk perhaps, with a bit of provocation thrown in.

This is exactly the wrong approach to supporting these protests.

I am pointing this out.

It is not my intention to explain what they are about, as I assume this is obvious to anyone on a social media board for liberals.
