The term for this seat ends in 2023. Whoever wins will have to run again in 2 years not 6.

McSally's appointment was for a temporary position only until a new Senator is elected.

While I don't know the exact details of the law I assume that once the Sec of State has certified a Senator elect her appointment would be terminated. Normally this is done by mutual agreement.
