(11,847 posts)What he is really saying is, our voting is a waste of time, because he will not recognize the will of the people... and he is telling us this in advance.

(38,414 posts)Yes, this could be his ...stupidest statement ever..And he is much too stupid to know that this statement was/is/ and always be ...TOTALLY STUPID...

(16,420 posts)I think Trump tells us what he is going to do, so we need to be ready.

(10,828 posts)Trump has telegraphed his intent. But we've been given a heads-up, unlike the 2000 Florida debacle. As Dems we know we'll be required to hold the line this time out. Or as Hillary Clinton suggested to Biden:
Do Not Concede Under Any Circumstances.
Best case scenario? It's a Biden blowout and we avoid any more collateral damage. But if it's close, we hold the line even as the roof falls on us. We hold the line until we succeed. If the citizens of Belarus can push back, day after day after day, then Americans can surely do the same.
We're going to win this thing.
I think this is getting people even more pissed off and fired up. Where are the posts saying ' I give up so will not vote' . Are you planting the idea or have you actually seen that?
It i one thing to be dismayed and depressed by this, but another entirely to decide not to vote because of it.

(25,457 posts)I think the opposite is true. I think he's so sure that he's going to get hammered on election night that he's throwing everything including the kitchen sink hoping it will sway public opinion. He's going to be disappointed.

(2,203 posts)I've seen the crazy proposal about somehow deeming mail-ins fraudulent, and the ensuing idea of how to steal, but is that for real?
If anything, we need to be clear on whether it is still safest to drop off a mail in ballot or if we must vote in person. I posted elsewhere a link where you can see that many states do not begin to count any of the drop off/mail in ballots until night of the election. I would like to know what is strategically the preferred method given the latest blatherings.

(32,017 posts)As usual, he has unrealistic desires but no realistic plan that would allow him to achieve them.

He loves the fear card, grass hopper learned well from Vlad.

(4,554 posts)I suppose he meant "mail-in ballots" but, in his usual fractured communication style, failed to state it properly.
Otherwise, it makes no sense, even for Trump.

(11,155 posts)if he loses the election, the Secret Service will gladly escort him and his gang out of the White House. My bet is he has treated them like he treats everyone.

(16,420 posts)He will be removed from office if he loses.

(14,074 posts)Everyone who believes in American democracy should make a commitment to take to the streets if Trump tries to illegally hold onto power. This is serious. He will try to hold on. If he succeeds, our democracy is over.
Tercules
(32 posts)At some point, he will be physically escorted out of the WH if he refuses to leave. That would be a treat to see.

(38,414 posts)Threatening violence during peaceful times, is illegal, immoral, and stupid. To say something like that
40 days before the election by the Trump proves to many the truth. Trump needs to go. Now, with
this statement, Trump has proved to 65% he needs to go. 10% don't know..25% are for Trump's
dictatorship.
65 Percent on our side, is a solid victory. And that is what it will be with this threatening statement.
Hard to say, but this could be Trump's stupidest ever as President.
TwilightZone
(25,457 posts)A lot of people will vote for him even if they disapprove. Many vote R regardless. Approval is not equivalent to votes.
55/45 would still be a massive blowout.
Stuart G
(38,414 posts)If this is a threat of violence, then Trump has lowered the floor.
Is it a threat of violence?
TwilightZone
(25,457 posts)Nothing else he's done has affected him one iota. Why do you think this suddenly would? You think his supporters put any rational thought into anything he says? Nope.
Stuart G
(38,414 posts)They will not vote, or vote for Biden......
But it is the future, we will find out on election eve. I say this stupid comment lowers his support at least 5%

(13,180 posts)Trump's just being loyal to his many seditious and traitor-minded supporters. If he ruled out treason and armed struggle, he'd dismay and depress a good-sized percentage of his ardent fans.
Trump also implies he might simply refuse the election result to hold himself above it and imply (falsely) that he can ignore the election if he feels like it. There's no power over Trump in his little performance act.
