She was talking on her show about how few newspapers were endorsing that orange con man who is the current occupant of the White House (I won't say his name). By the time of the election, as I recall, there were only two or three newspapers in the whole country that had endorsed him. ALMOST ALL of the newspapers in the U.S. had endorsed Hillary Clinton.
Now, four years later, I don't think I have heard of a single newspaper that has endorsed him. But I haven't heard of many that have endorsed Biden, either. I don't think anybody is paying any attention to that issue this time around. Probably because there's so much other shit going on, the newspaper-endorsements issue has been drowned out.
Even so, I'd like to know. Has the orange con man gotten ANY newspaper endorsements in this election? Has he gotten a SINGLE one? I can't imagine anybody other than the Washington Times and Fox News actually endorsing him.
Rachel Maddow, are you or somebody on your show reading this?

(983 posts)These days they probably hurt more than they help.
They're self-important and symbolize 'establishment' approval.

(787 posts)Our local paper, the Dallas Morning News has said they will not endorse either candidate and are running a series of editorials on "issues" and each candidate's stance on them. I find this a particular wimpy view for a paper to take.
