They call me Alice (not even close).I have been getting texts from the Don and his demon seed et al begging me to donate to stop the horror that will take place if Joe Biden and his ilk take over. Originally, I wanted to block the number but then I began to fantasize; what if Alice was a mega millionaire; what if she doesn't respond; what if she feels slighted that the idiots haven't reached out to her and refuses to donate? I will be that Alice...

I do admire your line of thinking and if it isn't a burden, definitely DO it.

(34,852 posts)Google your name and your phone number. Look at all the wrong numbers:
Here are ours from a site called ClusterMap. Only the landline is correct. My two sons have wrong cell phone numbers. The only reason I didn't draw red from my daughter's was because it was our landline. However, it is also wrong because she has not lived her for 12 years. So 3/4 numbers are wrong.
There is no longer a phone book and cell numbers are obtained from "vendors" or from "surveys" or "bonus rewards" etc. It is not very reliable.

(34,852 posts)This Alice person may have entered a phone number somewhere on a sales receipt or something..her handwriting may have been bad that day.
We have a phone number associated with us that has the wrong area code. My area code is 210, but the associated number is 240. It looks like someone had bad handwriting that day.
The numbers are not "assigned", they are "associated", there is a big difference. Cell numbers in "public records" are based on surveys and guesses, not assignment. Cell phone associations are about as reliable as email associations.

(5,202 posts)I amuse myself with it. For example, Elaine (not my name) got a text from. Trump telling her to request her absentee ballot and that absentee ballots are good but not mail in ballots.
So my reply is: OK boss. Request the ballot but don't mail it. Gotcha! Way to own them libs!

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
