(1,822 posts)While I want him gone and in jail, hell be dead in a decade. Barrett might be on the court for 30-40 years.

(28,075 posts)But I'd start investigating Kavanaugh, Barrett, and Thomas (and their spouses). I'd let them resign quietly rather than face prosecution.

(4,673 posts)he could not nominate anyone else either.
I see him going to prison as beyond unlikely, and would be content with him and the whole cabal being bankrupted, lose their businesses, and end up having to get a real job.

(8,419 posts)It would have to be all judicial appointment for his entire term.
Statehood for DC and Puerto Rico, McConnell steps down, agreement to abolish EV.
They need to be severely punished. One SC justice is not even close to breaking even, thus without a penalty, they would just do it again.
They need to learn.

(3,401 posts)McConnell will lose power and possibly his seat, we can handle statehood and more justices on our own, but we cant reverse the damage that will be done by Barrett in a few months possibly even maintaining Trumps presidency.

(3,401 posts)Get him admit to tax fraud and withdrawal his nomination, he will lose the election. There are plenty of Puranas out there that will bleed him dry in legal fees in just a couple of years leaving office.

(30,807 posts)There are ways to deal with the Supreme Court catastrophe.
But nobody should get away with destroying the country the way he has, with all the individual crimes he committed along the way.
The Magistrate
(95,244 posts)On condition he nominated Judge Garland, and then once the confirmation went through I would renege and jail him anyway.

(95,244 posts)Though I am sure others have at times expressed a similar sentiment.
I do mean it.
The 'golden rule' is something people cannot help obeying, in that how they treat others is a declaration of how they feel in their hearts they themselves ought to be treated. A person who practices injustice needs unjust treatment, craves it, and cannot be satisfied without it. It is a damned shame this particular individual has gone so long without his heart's desire fulfilled. That is the nearest thing to sympathy for him I am capable of feeling.

No, Turd and his entire crime family rightly deserve to lose everything they own, and their freedom.

(11 posts)Unless you are apolitical and live under a rock in the woods we know it's a big warning sign if someone's attorney goes to prison. We also see that Trump throws a lot of people around him in front of the bus as soon as it benefits him.

(145,086 posts)I do not believe that trump really believe that he can truly contest the election results if the current polling results are accurate. If the current polls are accurate, Biden will win by a landslide and there will be no legitimate way to contest the election result. Floriuda will have accurate election results out on election night that will be good except for some miliary ballots. If trump loses Florida, then any election contest will be doomed to fail. However trump's threats could give him leverage to negotiate a plea deal with Governor Cuomo, AG James or DA Cyrus Vance where trump would agree to a peaceful transfer of power in exchange for no prison time for NY state tax charges.
I believe that trump will either pardon himself or will resign and have Pence pardon him for all federal crimes. trump may pardon his family members and some loyal idiots like Barr. The pardon will get rid of federal crimes and so trump needs to worry about state crimes and hsi biggest risk is NY state. I believe that trump will cur a deal with NY for a peaceful transfer of power in exchange for no prison time for turmp and perhaps members of his family
Carville agrees with my theory

This would be in effect a plea deal and not a pardon
