An unanswered question

Kyle Griffin
@kylegriffin1
Why did the president knowingly mislead America about the coronavirus threat?

I don't know if we'll ever have an answer to that, who could believe Trump if he told us, but I would say when you are hundreds of millions of dollars in debt, low interest rates and loose monetary policy are your friend, and the path to that is to crash the economy with your own helicopter money guy at the Fed.

Does it all start to make sense?

maybe there is not one answer. personally I believe he enjoys the power he has to cause the suffering and deaths of so many people. he's a sadist with a deeply damaged personality.
maybe he's just too lazy.
maybe it's because Jared and him never quite figured out where in the scenario their money would be coming from.

one thing we do now know thanks to the Woodward tapes is that it's not a delusional belief that science was wrong about the virus. Well over 200,000 dead bodies and millions of sick people have proved that the scientists, doctors, epidemiologists, etc, were quite right about the virus, but trump knew that at a time when he could have changed the course of events and saved so many people.

i do think that trump engages in magical thinking and holds the stubborn and absurd belief that the power of his personality can make things happen the way he wants them to. this belief is reinforced at his rallies by his cult. i've no recollection of any politician let alone a president continuing to campaign this way from day 1 of his administration. I say it's because he needs that energy as much as he needs his diet coke, adderall, and a shot in the ass before every public appearance. it's like air to him.

i dont think they collected much. most of the contracts they steered never panned out.

not for lack of trying, tho. iirc, they did a deal for respirators that showed up, but didnt work.
afaik, abbott never came up w a test. i know u of i now has a $3 instant test. right in their own back yard.

but they gave it the old college try. why jared was on the taskforce to begin with.

i have a habit of yelling at the maskholes. even tho i have a large front yard by chi standards, 30' deep, they jog by w no mask, and it puts me at risk.
foot traffic is heavy here.
i told one ass to get a mask yesterday and he told me to talk to the president. i told that one i hope he catches it and dies.

ftr, i do thank those that wear masks. i tend to sit in my front window, and holler. i have the kind of voice that can be heard across the wide street even.
if they are on the sidewalk, it is hard to tell where it is coming from.
i call people maskholes, and ask them if they think they are special. then i tell them they arent, and that i would know because i am.
at this point i am not above calling them assholes and bitches.

i may be making an impact. it is up to about 50-50 from about 1-10 before. or maybe the maskholes just know not to go by my property, i dunno.
at least i got the workers remodeling the place next door to wear them, mostly. but that's only cuz it is a $2500 fine for a business if employees dont. worst offender tho, is the boss. he is/was also a firefighter. i have threatened to track down his boss, and let whoever it is know what kind of disregard the dude has for human life. i suspect he is retired, tho. he has ff plates on his work van, which he thinks absolves him of the need to have the b plates he is supposed to have. but he looks to be older than me, 66.

ppl who think they are better than others is the root of most of what ails this country, tho.

Allow the virus to run rampant, people stay home and vote by mail, federal government runs the post office, compromise the post office and repeat ad nauseum that the elections are flawed because of it. Then steal the election and spend the next four years ensuring he won't have to go to prison for his litany of crimes.

This was calculated and Trump's analysis can never be anything but superficial.
